A car write-off check free is one of the most significant tests that you have to do before buying a used car. In the United Kingdom, we describe a car as 'written-off' after an accident and damage. Sometimes the damage is too serious, and the repair costs are significantly greater than the current value of the car and the car is set to be "scrapped." If however, the damage is only minor, then the car can be repaired easily.
If your vehicle has been written off, then your insurance company keeps it – you're paid a reimbursement. However, you have the option to purchase your car from it and to repair it yourself, if your car comes under what was known as category C (now replaced by category S).
If you announce that your car has been in an accident and place a claim to the insurance company, the vehicle will be inspected to check if a car has been written off free. If the damage is too severe then, the repair cost will be higher than the value of the vehicle, the insurer may write off the car for cost purposes.
Initially, you might have been acquainted with different categories, such as category C write off or CAT D, current write-off categories are named as Category S and Category N respectively.
